Scott is the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship at Syracuse University, providing guidance for collection management, scholarly communication, and subject liaison librarian services. He is responsible for an ~$9M principal collections budget and the department he leads plays a pivotal role in enhancing research, teaching and learning at Syracuse University.


His progressively more responsible positions have included Head of Collections at SU Libraries and Associate Director of the Textiles Library and Engineering Services at the North Carolina State University Libraries. Scott began his career at the NCSU Libraries as a Library Fellow.


He holds a Master of Arts in Library and Information Studies from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The Pennsylvania State University.


His professional interests include collections, economics of information, publishing, and space planning in libraries.
