Sandra CrumlishManager, St. Jude Medical CRMD Library & Resource Center
Sandra Crumlish developed St. Jude Medical’s Library from a bare storeroom with a few journals to a multidisciplinary library with over 3,500 titles. Sandra was the driving force to create a virtual library for St. Jude Medical’s worldwide organization, providing enterprise-wide access to e-journals, e-books, and medical, technical, business, and industry databases. Sandra also adapted the library’s online catalog to manage special collections of “knowledge assets” from the company’s medical director. After discussions about a collaboration space in the library, the opportunity arose after the company’s innovation challenge to create an innovation suite in the library. The library will be renamed the Information and Innovation Research Center when it reopens in October 2012.
Sandra received her bachelor’s degree in communications and her Master of Science in Administration from California State University, Bakersfield. Sandra recently completed her certification in copyright management and knowledge services through the Special Libraries Association (SLA). As a member of both the SLA and the Medical Libraries Association (MLA), Sandra believes you can never learn too much and continues challenging herself with educational opportunities. Outside of work her newest hobby is running agility with her chocolate lab, Luc — well, he runs and she tries to keep up.
