Michele Gibney obtained her MLIS from San Jose State University in 2009. She is a California native but worked for over two years at Nova Southeastern University in southern Florida as the Digital Initiatives Librarian and the University Archivist. Her primary job duties included start up and management of the institutional repository. Returning to her home state in 2016, her current position is at the University of the Pacific in central California where she holds the title of Digital Repository Coordinator and again primarily has been working on start-up and management of the institutional repository. One of the big facets at Pacific has been the implementation and development of a program of faculty grants to create Open Educational Resources. In addition, Pacific has started two new OA journals since Ms. Gibney joined the team, one edited by students and one by an international group of faculty.
