As the Head of Research and Instructional Services (RIS) for Joyner Library, East Carolina University, Katy is responsible for leading a team of 11 individuals who teach more than 350 information literacy classes and provide 200+ research consultations per year. She is also very active in professional education, recently as a joint organizer of the NC Bibliographic Instruction Group (NC-BIG) Camp Unconference, and speaking at the Library Orientation Exchange (LOEX) and International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) conferences among others. She is the author of the Library Ideas Blog.
Katy earned an MILS, an MA in Germanic Linguistics and a BA in German and Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
