Heather has been a veterinary information specialist since 2001. She moved to Texas A&M in 2013 to serve as Coordinator of Veterinary Services, the primary liaison to the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and veterinary outreach services, and holds the Dorothy G. Whitley Professorship in the University Libraries. Prior to this she served as the Veterinary Medicine Librarian at Oklahoma State University for a dozen years.
Her research focuses on veterinary practitioners' discovery and use of literature, and on the historic literature of veterinary parasitology. Currently the Executive Secretary for the Evidence-based Veterinary Medicine Association, she also has served in a number of positions in the Medical Library Association’s Veterinary Medical Libraries Section (MLA-VMLS) and in the United States Agricultural Information Network (USAIN).
