Dr. Najeeb Al-Shorbaji
I am not a user of HINARI but part of my job is to support hundreds of HINARI users in eligible countries in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region (Afghanistan, Jordan, Syria, Djibouti, Morocco, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, Tunisia). HINARI has made a difference in the lives of many researchers and health workers. HINARI has contributed to improvement of the quality of their research, allowing them to access up-to-date high-quality literature and putting them on the same level as colleagues in developed countries. HINARI has saved eligible institutions a lot of money, raised the standards of medical libraries and brought additional benefits like Internet access and participation in virtual communities.
We need all to work together to make this a total success and to make sure that countries make full use of this opportunity.
— Dr. Najeeb Al-Shorbaji, Regional Advisor for Health Information, WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office, Cairo, Egypt
